John Pritchard Hayes, 64, of Fayetteville, passed away on January 21, 2024.

He was born in Wilkes County to the late Fred and Catherine Hayes on July 4, 1959.

John was a member of New Life Community Church. He was a loving father, husband, and grandfather. If he wasn’t ocean fishing, he would spend quality time with his family and friends. John was an avid Wake Forest and Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a hard worker his entire life. If a friend was in need, he would gladly lend a helping hand. His humor will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish John’s memory is his wife of 28 years, Chong Hayes; daughter, Kim Harris (Bruce) and Su Kim; son, Hyo Kim; siblings, David Hayes (Gina), Cynthia Hayes, and Michael Hayes; 4 grandchildren, along with many extended family and friends. 

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Organization of Korean-American Women of NC Scholarship Endowment.  Checks may be mailed to Cumberland community Foundation, P.O. Box 2345, Fayetteville, NC 28302, on the memo line write, OKAW of NC Scholarship Endowment.  A memorial service is scheduled for 11am Saturday, January 27, 2024, at New Life Community Church. The family will receive friends at 10am. Following the service you are invited to join the family for a time of remembrance at Fuller's Old Fashioned BBQ, located at 7735 S. Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304, from noon to 2pm.
