John W. Henderson, 73, of Schellsburg, died on Monday, June 30, 2025 at his residence. He was born on April 26, 1952 in Cumberland, a son of the late John R. Henderson and Richard and Vera (Troutman) Chirdon. On May 17, 2003 in Osterburg he married Trinette (Hahn) Henderson who survives along with the following family: a son, Denny Henderson of Everett; a step-daughter, Jana Wert and husband Matthew of Alum Bank; three grandchildren: Matthew Jr., Mason, and Hunter; two brothers: Jim Chirdon widow of Pat of Butler, and Bill Chirdon and wife Joan of Baltimore, MD; and a sister-in-law, Yvette Hahn.

John was a 1970 graduate of Northern Bedford High School and served in the Army National Guard. He worked at Bedford Ford and Bedford Chrysler as a Service Manager, retiring after more than 30 years. Along with his wife he was a member at St. James Lutheran Church in Alum Bank before its closing. He was a member of the Bedford American Legion Post # 113, the Schellsburg VFW Post # 4440, and the Pleasantville VFW Post # 9219. He enjoyed motorcycle trips, watching Penn State Sports, attending the grandchildren's sporting events, and his cats.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers those wishing to make a donation in John's name can do so at the Bedford County Humane Society, 182 Bohn Road, Bedford, PA 15522. Arrangements by Timothy A.
