John David Hill, of Carrollton, KY, was born on December 7, 1955, in Carrollton, Carroll County, Kentucky. He departed from this world on January 14, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and memories.
David, as most people knew him, dedicated much of his professional life to journalism, serving as a former Sports Reporter for both the News Democrat in Carrollton and the Madison Courier. His passion for storytelling in the realm of sports was well-known, as he shared the thrill of the game with readers throughout the region. Additionally, John had also had a career at the Carroll County Regional Detention Center, where he worked as a Deputy Jailer.
He was known for his love of sports, particularly as a fervent fan of the Cincinnati Reds Baseball Team and the Cincinnati Bengals Football Team. He also enjoyed exploring his creative side through photography and had a fondness for model trains, hobbies that brought him joy and personal fulfillment.
He had been a parishioner at the St. John Catholic Church in Carrollton.
David is survived by his loving daughters, Allison Marie (Alexander) Edlin of Carrollton, KY, and Anna Louise Cassandra Hill of DeMossville, KY. He is also survived by his brother, Bob Hill of Travelers Rest, SC, and four beloved grandchildren who were a source of great pride and joy in his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Joseph Hill and Georgia Rue (Webber) Hill, and his beloved wife, Linda Bray. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home located at 809 Highland Ave, Carrollton, KY, 41008.
