John was a rare, straightforward, and authentic person. I truly enjoyed his 'what you see is what you get' approach. I fondly remember his awesome culinary skills especially on the election day team cook-off. In many ways- HCR team is a tight knit family, and John was a strong pillar of that family. Rest in peace John- you´ll be missed.

I´ve known John for a long time and worked with him on and off for the last 2 years - John was just a good guy and he was fun to work with. He was intelligent, hard working, and the go-to guy when you had a question or had something that had to get done.

The last project we worked on had a difficult last step. I couldn´t wrap my head around what needed to be done, but John could - and did. He took that last step on without hesitation, and completed it. And looking at the completed product now, what John did was simple but effective - he had a way of taking complex issues and simplifying them so everyone could understand them. John was gifted and he was a pleasure to work with.

Since I also help my Mom who is 93 years old, John and I talked of time we spend with our Mom´s. John took his Mom for drives to different places, and to farm stands and orchards around vegetable and apple season, and he´d always tell me which places had the best apple cider donuts which was one of his favorite things to get...which place his Mom liked the best, and which place John liked the best (they weren´t always the same place).

John was an all around good guy - he is sorely missed.

You were such a wonderful man, always looking out for your Mother in such thoughtful ways. I will miss you bringing donuts for us at camp, bringing us meals already cooked when you came up to Pt. Au Roche for the weekends in the summer and playing your guitar on the camp porch. I am so sad to know I will never see you again in this world, but hope you will be there to welcome me to the next. I´ll miss you Johnny...my Babes In Arms dance partner....the beginning of our beautiful friendship. I will think of all of our travels to New Orleans, all of the laughs, the way we viewed the world in our "snarky" but always honest and realistic way. I loved our antics and the way you always looked out for me when I got lost trying to find our hotel. A truly beautiful human being you are kiddo. I love you and all of my precious memories. Here´s a photo of us when we were both "kids". Wherever you are please save me a spot
