John Hood Obituary
John Waymon Hood, 74, of Mt. Hope passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Two Sisters Country Store. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM till 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral with Josh McGuire officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery in Mt. Hope, Alabama.
John was born June 9, 1950 to Clyde and Blanche Posey Hood. He loved farming, working in produce, gospel music and Alabama Football. Everyone loved John and he loved everyone. He never met a stranger.
Survivors include his two children, Brandy Drake and Lora Drake (Timmy Knight) and four step children; Charlotte Bowling (Mike), Stacy Douglas, Christopher Douglas (Samantha) and Tonya Hill (Willie), five grandchildren: Kassidy Berryman, Jason Douglas, Kayla Hill, Elizabeth Douglas and Kimberly Hill and Special friend: Betty Huston.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Campbell, Dakota Campbell, Chris Douglas, Stacy Douglas, James Hallman, Andrew Montgomery, David Douglas and Davie Douglas.
