John E. "Jack" Hooper Jr.

John taught my geography class at Hollidaysburg Area Junior High in the early 60's. was one of the teachers who made a significant difference in my life. As a kid who lost his father at 13, I was lost. John realized this and helped me get through this rough time with his kindness. I will never forget him. May he rest in peace.

Mr. Hooper was a wonderful person, one of my favorite teachers. After graduation, I still would see him in at Dennys restaurant in Altoona. He would always sit at the end of the bar in my mom's section. They became good friends, and he always sent her birthday and Christmas cards up until she passed away in 2018. Rest easy Mr. Hooper never forgotten
