There are only a handful of friends that graced my life like John Hughes. If ever there was a person who exemplified what being an American was all about... it was John. A man dedicated to enforcing the proper application of legal fairness as a member of the US Justice Department. He cherished his role as "Chief of Civil Complaints" but exhibited a very humble attitude that always made you feel comfortable when you were with him.
To say he had "class" would be an understatement.
He was a wonderful husband, father, community leader, coach, adviser, and friend to many. Most importantly, his love of family was so easily recognizable!
The Town of Branford, along with the Justice Department, were blessed to have him as a vibrant member of their communities. His humor, wit, and confident laid back easy manner... will surely be missed.
My heart goes out to his wife Michele, daughter Genevieve, son Michael and his extended family.
