John gave so much, always smiling, making hard times seem joyful. He was a barrel of fun. Everyone misses John.

John gained fame in the car world for designing the 1978 Toyota Celica among other accomplishments! I wish I could still hear his contagious laughter and voice barreling out, "Kiss me my darling; come hold me tight," to the passersby on State Street in Boring Santa Barbara! He made it almost lively!! He was also a true gentleman, never once made a pass at me and that is commendable!! :)

John loved being the life of the party; it came naturally to him. He used to get down on one knee and sing to women passing him on State Street, "Kiss me my darling, come hold me tight." They would freak while I laughed my head off at his antics. John was a barrel of fun; everyone loved him!

john was working.and the work was good.clean simple and always distinctive had this hutnick identity to it.why did his design always look so good why cant you see that anywhere else.every thing I have ever seen from someone kind of looks derivative somehow of something. no one was like john that this obviously was new. I have never seen this before and I really like it.we were sure to do two of his cars. one kind of what you would expect from him really beautiful cool but the other he invented the tiny open truck with this once any one saw this they got it. I sure did I had a car ready to go with but as soon as I saw this hutnick I knew it was a tiny truck. this was it as soon as I saw it.my reaction was so immediate I was so overwhelmed he really beamed with pride.
