John Hyde Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 5, 2025.
John Dennis (Jack) Hyde, 71, passed away on December 4, 2025. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, John was the son of Joseph and Joan Hyde. His life took him from Omaha, to Arizona, to Santa Rosa, California, before he eventually came to live in Malaga, New Jersey.

In California, Jack and his beloved wife, Janet, co-founded HyDome, a company whose success reflected their shared dedication, creativity, and hard work. After many fruitful years in business, Jack retired and embraced a lifelong passion: collecting and selling vintage comic books. He had a deep appreciation for creativity in all its forms and enjoyed music, movies, chess and a good book.

Jack was an engaged member of his community, serving with both the Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club. Through the Rotary, he and Janet opened their home as host family to numerous foreign exchange students, many of whom they remained close to for years to come. Though Jack and Janet did not have children of their own, they poured their hearts into their roles as aunt and uncle. To many, he will forever be remembered as Uncle Jack, a title he cherished.

Jack is survived by his wife Janet; his father Joseph Hyde; his siblings Joseph Forest, Jeanne Collins, Jim Hyde, Janet Stephens and Jennifer Blair; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack is predeceased by his mother Joan Hyde.

Jack's warmth, curiosity, and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. His life was rich with connection, conversation and quiet kindness, and his memory will be held dearly by family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Services will be private and held at the convivence of the family.
