John Wendle Ingle, age 82, met Jesus face to face on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. He was born on

July 29, 1940 to John Ledford and Carrie Price Ingle in Hornsby, Tennessee. He spent his

younger years in Dyess, Arkansas before relocating to Memphis after graduating from Dyess

High School. He was employed as a technical writer and trainer at Kimberly Clark Corporation

before retiring after 34 years. He served in the US Army from 1963-1969 including a

deployment to Korea during the Vietnam War. He was a member of The American Legion in

New Albany, MS.

John was a long-time member of Range Hills Baptist Church while in Memphis, serving as an

ordained deacon and Sunday school teacher. After retirement, he moved to New Albany, MS,

and immediately found a home church at Fredonia Baptist Church where he continued to serve.

John was a long-time Gideon. He was passionate about spreading God's Word through Bible

distribution throughout the community.

His hobbies included gardening, fishing, and "picking on everybody." He enjoyed taking care of

his farm and riding his John Deere tractor. He found his pond his place of peace. Upon

retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Martha, to all 48 contiguous states and Canada.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Martha Benefield Ingle; four daughters, Melinda

Gardner (Jim), Wendy Faulkner (Terry), Holly Vailes (Stephen), and Beverly Dunlap (Billy); eight

grandsons, James Gardner (Caroline), John David Gardner (Elizabeth), Shelby Faulkner,

Jonathan Faulkner, Daniel Vailes, Luke Vailes, Will Dunlap (Haley), Sam Dunlap; and two great-

grandsons, Jed Gardner and Emmett Gardner. He also leaves one sister, Bonnie Vaughn along

with many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Maxine Wallace, Daphine Mathis, Gladie

Woosley, Sadie Mathis, and two brothers, Wilford Ingle and Preston Ingle.

Services will be held Monday, July 24, 2023, at 5:00 pm at Forest Hill East Funeral Home, 2440
