John Jermyn Obituary
John Allen Jermyn, born on July 14, 1961, passed away on December 3, 2025. He was a cherished member of his community and a dedicated family man whose life was marked by love, humor, and a deep commitment to those around him.
John was known for his unwavering devotion to his mother following the passing of his father, Robert. His nurturing spirit shone brightly as he cared for her, embodying the values of love and family that were instilled in him from a young age by his parents, Carolyn and Robert.
A man of many interests, John had a passion for gardening and landscaping. His talent was recognized through numerous awards from the City of Rochester for his meticulous maintenance of Pinnacle Place. His love for beautifying the world around him was matched only by his ability to find joy in the simplest pleasures, whether it was camping under the stars, decorating his home for holidays, or the tranquility he felt while birdwatching. His dog Gizmo was a treasured companion, sharing many adventures by his side.
John was also known for his playful spirit. As a jokester with a unique sense of humor, he brought laughter and joy to those who knew him, leaving a mark of happiness on everyone he encountered. He had a particular fondness for listening to his police scanner, reflecting his dedication to community service through his role in the Gates Police Auxiliary. Furthermore, he played a significant part in fostering youth sports by serving as a trainer for the Junior Amerks, sharing his love of hockey with younger generations.
He is survived by his brother James (Sharren), his sister Judy (Yong) Goldsworthy, his sister Jean Malone, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Carolyn and Robert, and his brother-in-law, Ronald Malone.
John Allen Jermyn will be remembered for his kind heart, vibrant personality, and the lasting impact he made on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire those who loved him dearly.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, January 30th, from 4-7 PM at New Comer West Rochester location, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626.
