John Charles Jessen, 71, of Pillager, passed away peacefully at home after losing his battle with cancer on December 15, 2023. Services will be held 11am on Friday, December 22, at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Pastor Steve Benson officiation. Visitation will start one hour prior.
John was born to Edwin and Bobby (Milton - Schrader) Jessen on March 12, 1952. He graduated from Brainerd High School. He went on to Tech school for Home Health Care and was a caretaker of people most of his life.
John enjoyed bow hunting and fishing. He was an expert conversationalist. He will be missed by all who knew him.
John is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Danny; and brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Betty Jessen. He is survived by his niece, Colleen (Kevin) Goedker of Brainerd; nephew, Robert (Lanita) Jessen of Brainerd; great nephews, Jake Reynolds, Alex Goedker, Jayden Hummel, Carter VandenAvond; great nieces, Kaycee Goedker, Cynthia (Tristan) Rosekrans, Julia VandenAvond; and great-great nieces, Oakley Balsimo, and Aspen Rosekrans.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
