John Alfred Jones, Jr., age 80, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on August 31, 2025. He was born on June 13, 1945, in Indianapolis, Indiana, a beloved son of John and Margaret Sparacino Jones.
He served as a Captain in the United States Army and Army Reserves. He graduated with Honors from Purdue University as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He was a Marion County Veterinary State Inspector for 20 plus years.
He is preceded by; his parents and two sisters.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory; significant other, Lisha Burry.
He also leaves behind two sisters, Sharlene and Suzanne.
He was a devoted Christian and spent more than 20 years in the same church, Ocala Baptist Temple.
He had a short stay at Advent Health Ocala where they were so kind and treated him with the utmost care. He later went into care at Ocala health and rehab and then lastly to Grace Davis House. It is beyond words to describe how well Susan, his Nurse at Grace House ushered him comfortably into the Arms of Jesus.
The cremation arrangements have been entrusted with Countryside Funeral Home.
