John M. Kaczor

John M. Kaczor, 83, formerly of Reading, passed away on December 5, 2023 in Lewes, DE. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John and Edna (Shaner) Kaczor. John was drafted into the US Army, where he obtained his GED. Following his military service, John worked as a yard Marshall for Dana Incorporated for 32 years until his retirement. John dedicated his time to assisting Habitat for Humanity, offering his skills in carpentry and relishing the opportunity to work with his hands. In addition to his passion for building, he also had a fondness for restoring old cars, enjoying fishing trips, and embarking on camping adventures. He will be missed by his daughters, Tammy L. Hetrich, spouse of Rick, of West Lawn, and Lori A. Kaczor, spouse of Barbara Rath, of Reading. John leaves behind three grandchildren: Shane, Eric, and Cody Hetrich; eight great grandchildren; and one brother, Walter Kaczor, of New Jersey. Also surviving is his longtime friend, Ruth Baer. John was predeceased by his daughter, Sherry. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, 5153 Kutztown Road, Temple. The family will receive guests from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for a viewing. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
