Published by Legacy on Jan. 22, 2026.
John Gary Kalvinski, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the age of 76.

Born in Hamtramck, Michigan, on September 3, 1949, John was the cherished son of the late John and Stella Kalvinski. He was predeceased by his brother, Mark Kalvinski, but leaves behind his loving sisters Judy (Roy) Michelsen and Donna (Paul) Painter.

John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, dedicating three years of his life to serving in Vietnam from 1967 to 1970. Following his military service, he began a long and dedicated career with Ford Motor Company, where he worked for 41 years until his retirement in 2012.

John married the love of his life, Angela, with whom he shared 35 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving family and lasting legacy. He is survived by his devoted wife Angela, four children Korri (Al) Tanzini, Kelli Kalvinski, Keith (Holly) Ardman and Glen Ardman and their cherished grandchildren: Morgan (Steve), Sophi, Joey, Ashlyn, Ryan, and Megan. John was also a proud great-grandfather to Penny, who brought immense joy to him.

Outside of his professional life, John was an avid sportsman. He loved to play baseball in his younger years. He had a passion for golfing and was an enthusiastic member of both a golf and bowling league. Some of his fondest memories were made on fishing trips with his children and camping adventures that showcased his love for the great outdoors. Additionally, those who knew John knew he loved to dance at family gatherings.

There will be a memorial in honor of John held in either late spring or early summer.
