John A. Kapcoe, 80, of Vermilion, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Mercy Regional Medical Center.
Born on June 15, 1944, in Starford, Pennsylvania, John moved from Arizona to Vermilion, where he lived for the past 58 years.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, John served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he worked as an electrician for BF Goodrich for 42 years, retiring in 2009.
John was a true jack of all trades with a passion for maintaining his property and working on his tractors. Known for his ability to fix anything, he found joy in being handy and took great pride in his work. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Karen (née Mitchell) Kapcoe; his daughters, Donna (Walter) Watts of Phoenix, AZ, Beth (Douglas) Bedilion of Vermilion, and Jennifer Kapcoe of Avon Lake; his son, Michael (Susan) Kapcoe of Medina; his grandchildren, Britney, Emma, Katie, Toby, Ava, and Ivan; great-grandchildren, Ella and Liam; and his sister, Karen Isbell of California.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary (née Uhrin) Kapcoe; his brother, Mickey; his sisters, Barbara Guidish and Anna Mae Brady; and his stepbrother, Joe Kelly.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
