John Karshner Obituary
Jack was a graduate of The Ohio State University, served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, including two tours in Vietnam, was a farmer, and worked in human resources, most notably with Nash Finch in Rocky Mount. He was a dedicated member of Englewood United Methodist Church for the past 38 years. Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Jack is survived by his brother, Philip Karshner (June); his sons, John "Johnny" Karshner and Dr. Christopher Karshner (Aletha); his daughter, Elizabeth Porreco; his step-son, Michael Bragdon (Barb); his step-daughter, Terry Bocket (Tom); and his grandchildren Lucas Karshner, Zachary Simmons, and Cameron Karshner.
A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Englewood United Methodist Church, 300 S. Circle Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Rev. Nathan Wittman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jack's memory to Methodist Home for Children, 1041 Washington Street, Raleigh, NC 27605 or Meals on Wheels, PO Box 7611, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
