John G. Kausch, 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Ponte Vedra Beach on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 with his loving wife and daughter by his side. He was born December 8, 1945 in Newport News, Virginia to John Louis and Helene (Profer) Kausch.
John graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy and continued his education at George Washington University where he acquired a Master of Arts degree in Health Care Administration.
John served as CEO of several not-for-profit hospitals and joined Hospital Corporation of America in 1979. During his tenure with HCA he served as CEO of several hospitals, President of The North Florida Division of 14 hospitals, and finally as President of HCA International for 10 years based in London. He was responsible for operations in London, Geneva, and Barcelona, as well as exploring other development opportunities outside the United States. He retired in 2007.
John married Cynthia L. Booker on March 25, 1995. Together for 29 years, they enjoyed world travel, golfing, and boating. John held a special place in his heart for his dogs and was actively involved in K9's For Warriors.
John is survived by his wife, Cynthia Kausch, Ponte Vedra Beach; his daughter, Katie (Chris) Arndt, Afton, TN; and son, Jason (Amy) Kausch, Charlotte, NC and a number of cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Palms Presbyterian Church, 3410 South Third Street, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. The family will receive friends at 1:00pm, prior to the service.
