John "Jack" Edward Killeen of Saratoga Springs, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in Middletown, NY. He was 95.
Born on September 7, 1930, Jack was the son of the late John Bernard Killeen and Estella Weise Killeen of Iowa.
Jack is survived by his devoted wife of 73 years, Dorothy Dias Killeen, and by his loving children: Vickie Eisenrauch and her spouse Bill; Karen Warren and her spouse Rob; Jackie Killeen; and John Killeen and his spouse Aimee.
A proud and cherished grandfather, Jack delighted in the lives of his grandchildren: Kate, Rob, Rachel, Emily, Elizabeth, Zachary, Daniel, Molly and Jack. His great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Lily, Sadie and Lucy - brought him immeasurable joy, and they were all fortunate to have "Grandpa Jack" as a constant presence in their lives.
Jack graduated from Ellenville High School and the State University College at Utica, NY. From 1951 to 1955, he honorably served in the Army Security Agency, including a station in Munich, Germany.
After returning to the United States, Jack began his career with the Glens Falls Insurance Company before joining and later partnering with the late Donald A. Sprague. Together, they founded the Sprague and Killeen Insurance Company in Ellenville, NY in 1966. Jack retired as president of the firm in 1994.
Deeply committed to his community, Jack served as a director of the Ellenville Savings Bank, was a past member of the Ellenville School Board, and acted as an advisor to the board of the Commercial Union Insurance Company.
His many memberships reflected his dedication to service and fellowship, including the Ellenville Noonday Club, the Elks Lodge, American Legion Post 111, the Lions Club of Kerhonkson and the Shawangunk Country Club.
Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586
Cremation will take place privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Jack will be remembered for his storytelling, laughter, and his deep love for family and friends.
