John William Kirby

We lived down in the bottom about a mile from where JW lived. I remember him walking across the cotton field to come play with us. When we moved to Sciopio JOHNNY told us we had to call him Johnny and not JW or he would beat us up. Since he was more like my older brother I would call him JW sometimes just to make him mad so he would chase me around. The memories I have would fill a large book. We have not seen each other much during the last few years but I always knew he would be there for me. I dearly miss him. Johnny was uncle, older brother and friend and as fine a man as you will ever meet.
