Lunell Caraway White

LuNell Caraway White, 90, formerly of Ponchatoula, LA and Beaumont, TX, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa, Illinois. She was born on January 31, 1921 in Sicily Island, LA, a daughter of Rev. Porter M. and Minnie Merle (Youngblood) Caraway. She married William B. White on December 21, 1945, in West Monroe, LA. He preceded her in death April 20, 2006, after 60 years of marriage. Surviving are two children, Gary (Susan) White, Lexington, IL and Dan (Kaye) White, Beaumont, TX; five grandchildren, Andy(Christin) White, Normal, IL, Ryan White, Beaumont, TX, Jason (Megan) White, Lexington, IL, Adam White, Sunnyvale, CA, Emily (Frank) Henard, Normal, IL; six great-grandchildren, Addison White, Drew White, Kobi White, Cooper White, Willow White, Dylan White; two brothers, Dr. James J. Caraway and Dr. Stone W. Caraway. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Porter M. Caraway, Jr. and one sister, Mantha Rose King. LuNell attended S.M.U. and East Texas State University. For twenty years she was the office manager at the Physicians and Surgeons Center in Beaumont, TX, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Friends will be received Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Harry McKneely & Son, Hammond . Services will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the Springfield Cemetery Springfield, Louisiana.
