John Lee Kleinhelter

John Lee Kleinhelter passed away on August 20th, 2022 with his wife Pam at his side. He was born September 5th, 1947 to Hubert and Adele Kleinhelter. He was the third of three children. After serving in Vietnam as a hospital corpsman aboard the ship Repose, he studied to be a radiology technician at St. Vincent s Medical Center. He worked at St. Vincent s for 38 years with his last position as Business Manager of the Operating Room.
John had a strong belief in God and believed in the mission of the Daughters of Charity. He was an avid Florida Gator football fan and attended most home games for over 30 years. He also loved to golf and fish. He worked hard and loved even harder, always willing to help anyone in need. John loved his family, but especially most, his four grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Bill Kleinhelter (Betty). He is survived by his wife, Pam; sister, Barbara Knies (Anthony Jr.); son, Kevin Kleinhelter (Lee); granddaughter, Madison and grandson, Holden. Step daughter, Brooke Garretson (Grant) and grandchildren, Abigail and Grayson.
A visitation for John will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated will occur Monday, August 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9800 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
A committal service will occur Monday, August 29, 2022 from 2:00 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
