John Kluberton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brookside Funeral Home and Crematory (Yakima) - Moxee on Mar. 1, 2023.
John Brant Kluberton Sr. was called to his Savior, February 23, 2023, from his sleep, peacefully at home with his wife, after an extended illness, Jacci, and son, Keenan Hawkins, by his side. John was born on September 18, 1959, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from San Mateo High School, in 1977, in California. He had been a resident of Prosser, and most recently Yakima.
John was fortunate enough that his career allowed him to travel the United States for many years, working in the Industrial Machinery business. He took joy in his garden and cooking from the bounty it produced. He valued the beauty of Washington State and the loyal companionship of his dogs. He had a dream of running a rescue farm for dogs, and watching it take root and grow. John had a keen sense of humor and his smile contagious.
He had a deep love for God's Word and found peace and comfort there.
In addition to his wife, Jacci, and son, Keenan, he is survived by his adult children, Kienna and Kyliah Richards, John Jr., Kelly, Blair, and Chris Rechner (whom John always considered a son) along with nine nieces and nephews, and four grandchildren, located across the U.S. John was the youngest of four siblings, leaving behind Carol Heald, Tom Kluberton, and Kate Nava, of New Mexico, Alaska, and Texas, respectively. Remarkably, John is also survived by his 95-year-old mother, Mary Jane Grim-Thompson, of California. John is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Kluberton.
His family is most grateful to the LDS Church of Naches and Yakima, friends, and family, and in particular his step father-in-law, Patrick Schille.
A firm follower of Christ, the family takes great solace in our firm belief that John is now comfortable in his Saviors care.
We send gratitude to the community and caregivers and will keep all in our prayers.
A Memorial Service will be held on March 18, 2023, at 1:00pm, at the Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter-Day Saints (705 S 38th Ave.), and will be followed by lunch afterwards.
Brookside Funeral Home is caring for the family. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.brooksidefuneral.com.
