OBITUARY John Wade Knutson, born on January 3rd, 1941 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota left this world on June 7th, 2012. John is survived by his blessed and cherished wife Patricia, his daughters, Karen (Jeff), Kelli (RJ) and his sons Tim (Cindy), Tom (Amanda). He was the Grandfather to twelve grandchildren; Chad, Nick, Nicole, Jared, Ryan, Kayla, Emily, Connor, Ana, Ava, Shaun and Savannah and one great grandson Jack; brother Bob ?Frank? Knutson. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Samantha, and favorite companion his dog Hunter. John looked up to his dad Leslie so much he decided to walk in his footsteps and work for the Soo Line Railroad. John was a Conductor and Engineer in Minneapolis and in 1988 he moved with his family to Alexandria, MN, to pursue a career as a Train Master in Glenwood, MN. He loved the railroad. It was his life! Even after retiring in 1999, he still worked for the short line railroad up until recently. Even when he wasn?t feeling well, he still wanted to get on that train and do what he could. It was his passion and love! John will ever be remembered for his love that he gave to his family and complete selflessness. He was a fighter up until the day he passed. His kids will never forget their dad saying? Do you think I just came off the tuna boat yesterday?" They couldn't get past anything, even as adults! He will forever be loved, respected and missed by his wife, children, grandkids and railroad community. A funeral service was held Tuesday, June 12, 2012at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Anderson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.andersonfuneral.net
