John Labriola, a long-time resident of Garnerville, NY, passed away peacefully at home on February 26th, 2025. John was born on November 19th, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY. John was a loving and dedicated husband to Agnes since 1997, father to Joe and daughter-in-law Ginny, and John Devine and daughter-in-law Mary. John was a devoted grandfather to Katie and her husband Sean Welsh, Rosie and her husband Kewin Garabito, Kevin and James Devine. John was also a proud great-grandfather to Charlotte, Kennedy, Reina and Khloe. He was a loving uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his first wife, Mary Sammartano, his mother Antoinette, and his sainted sister, Suzanne. After retiring as a laborer for City College of New York, he went on to work as a security guard at Pascack Valley Hospital. After his second retirement, he worked as a safety officer at Helen Hayes Hospital. John will be remembered fondly for his love and devotion to his family, music, western movies, keeping Italian traditions, and his many collections. Later in life he loved to go to Sparky's, all the lacrosse and hockey games he could, and look forward to after school babysitting. He will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2nd, from 2pm-6pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 3rd, 11am at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, Garnerville, followed by interment at Mt. Repose Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's name to United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY 10956.
