John Lanoue Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anderson Memorial Home & Heartland Cremation Services - Plainfield on Dec. 4, 2025.
John A. Lanoue, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on December 1, 2025.
John was born in Concordia, Kansas. He lived a short time in New York City before settling into the Chicago area for the remainder of his life. John earned his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law and worked as an attorney until he retired. His proudest title, however, was being called Dad. John was a devoted father who enjoyed anything that involved his children. He attended as many of his children's activities as possible. Family card games around the kitchen table allowed John's competitive side to shine. He could trash talk his opponents better than anyone else. He also enjoyed cheering on his beloved University of Michigan Wolverines football team and learning how to play the guitar. John is survived by his children Alex, Maddie, and Jake Lanoue: his fiancé Pam Murphy, his parents Carolyn Lanoue (Ron Williams) and Adrian Lanoue (Georgia Baldwin): his sisters Mary (Dean) Yarbrough, Martha (Tony) Pry, and Michelle Babin: and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial mass will take place on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, 10:00am at St. Ann Catholic Church, 24500 S Navajo Dr, Channahon, Illinois. Burial inurnment will follow the mass at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.

While we didn´t know John directly, his daughter Maddie has become a special person in our family and hearts, and we are sure Maddie reflects of the best of her father. We´ve made a donation to the American Heart Association in honor of his memory and will continue to pray for John´s family as they recover from their loss.
