John Lawler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Homes and Hedges Cemetery - Camdenton on Feb. 16, 2026.
John L. Lawler III, age 66, of Lake Ozark, Missouri passed away on February 13, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving wife Karrie and his Beloved and Cherished daughter Maureen Lawler. John was born on September 21, 1959, in St. Louis, Missouri where he lived most of his life. Retiring to Lake of the Ozarks in the past few years.

John followed in his Grandfather John (Doc) Lawler and Father John L Lawler Jr. footsteps becoming a skilled tradesman with his Local Plumbers and Pipefitters 562, earning the respect of colleagues and friends alike through his steady hands, strong work ethic, and pride in a job well done. Never one to shy away from hard work he also became an entrepreneur, opening several businesses, building not only a livelihood but a legacy of integrity and determination for his family.

Outside of work he found joy in life's simple pleasures-firing up the grill for the family BBQ's, listening to his favorite 80's music, taking his boat for a ride, occasionally golfing with friends, but most of all gathering with family and friends. He was a caring, hardworking, strong, and endlessly funny man who never met a stranger and offered help to anyone in need-truly everyone's friend. His family was everything to him, the center of his world and his greatest pride.

John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother n law, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Johnny is survived by his wife Karrie Lawler of the home, his daughter Maureen Lawler of St. Charles, MO, his grandchildren Caden Briones and Layla Aviles. His siblings cherished sister Maureen Lawler, Dennis (Jane) Lawler, Kerri (Michael) Mattingly, Kevin (Jodie) Stecher, Brother n law Bridget (Kevin) Murphy and his uncle and best friend Joseph (Shelly) Nardi, with many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.

John is preceded in death by his father John L. Lawler Jr. and Beloved mother Phyllis Nardi. Grandparents John L. & Elizabeth Lawler and Santo & Eva Nardi, and son-in-law to Michael & Evelyn Begley.

Please say a prayer for our Johnny, that he now finally has peace.

A Catholic Memorial Mass will be held in St. Louis at a later date and there will be a notice on this website.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Homes, 514 Highway 42, Osage Beach, MO 65065 (573) 348-3232. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.hedgesscottmillard.com.

I am so very sorry to hear of this. He is too young. I lived up the street from John and his brother Denny on Dover Drive when I lived in Florissant. I attended McCluer North when he was there. My most sincere condolences to the entire family and friends.
With Sympathy,
David May Jr.

Jonny, you were a class act!! You were always a great man to be around. Your sense of humor and the way you could spin an Irish yarn were second to none. You will truly be missed.
