John Lee Edwin Haywood Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cornersville Funeral Home on Dec. 26, 2025.
John Lee Edwin Haywood, Jr., age 85, of Cornersville, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at his home with his loving family at his side.
He was born June 6, 1940, in Spring Hill, Tennessee, to the late John Lee Haywood and Lassie Galloway Haywood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Patricia West, Marion Shaw, Anne Brown, Edwina Tapper, Carolyn Nix, and Harold Haywood.
John is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Margaret Haywood; daughter, Kim (Rick) Brown; sons, David (Dona) Haywood and Lee Haywood; stepdaughters, Tammy (Tracy) Kilpatrick and Melissa (John) Dudley; stepson, Dee (Dianne) Gordon.
He was raised in the Knob Creek community and was a graduate of Spring Hill High School. John dedicated 43 years of his life to Occidental Chemical, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic. Outside of his career, he poured his heart into part time farming, a role that reflected his love of the land and the satisfaction he found in honest, hands on work. He also enjoyed woodworking, creating pieces that carried both his skill and his quiet creativity. Farming and woodworking weren't just hobbies for him-they were extensions of who he was. He especially cherished spending time with his family, finding his greatest joy in the moments they shared together.
Visitation with the family will be held at Cornersville Funeral Home, 310 North Main St., Cornersville, TN, on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 10:00 am from the Chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home with burial to follow in New Hope Ostella cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tony West, Fred Tapper, Larry Shaw, Jeff Nix, Jake Shaw, and Rick Brown
