John Alan Lingle

Lingle, John A. age 82, of Farmington, MN passed on to his eternal home Friday, January 30th, 2026, after a sudden cancer diagnosis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Leota (nee Hawley) Lingle, of Bozeman, MT.

John retired from Medtronic, where he worked as an electrical engineer, and then later as a clinical manager. He was a devoted husband, father to 3 children, and grandfather to 11 grandchildren.

Survived by loving wife of 56 years, Joyce (nee Merritt); sons, Jeff (Kandi) Lingle and Jason (Bernadette) Lingle; daughter, Julie (Sean) Smith; grandchildren, Matthew, Mackenzie, Ellie, Bradyn, Samuel, Blake, Brian, Benjamin, Brooklyn, Christina, and Bridget; brother, James (Cheryl) Lingle; many other relatives and friends.

A hard-working handyman, John could fix almost any home or car problem, and he passed that knowledge on to the next generation.

John was a kind-hearted Believer, who for many years, enjoyed working with youth in the church. He left a legacy in the lives of his family and the many others he interacted with, pointing them towards the love of Christ. He enjoyed attending almost every music and sporting event for his children and grandchildren, and he never hesitated to help his family.

Even in his final days, he set an example by continually showing love to his family. He will surely be missed, but we take comfort knowing he is with his Heavenly Father, restored in body and mind.

Funeral service will be held Friday, February 6th,11 AM, at Berean Baptist Church, 309 County Rd 42 E, Burnsville. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Private family interment at Acacia Park Cemetery, 2151 Pilot Knob Rd, Mendota Hts, MN.
