Mr. Lockridge, I have not, and can never, forget your kindness and spectacular professional example to me. Your name is on my license. Thank you.

John gave me my start as an attorney. We were friends and partners. I think of him often. Just yesterday I passed the sign for his office while driving. I have always admired his wit. Just wish I had visited him. Rest in pease my friend.

John Lockridge was highly respected and very well-liked by all of his colleagues in the legal community. He was fond of saying that he began to practice law "shortly after the earth cooled." So, just about everyone who is currently practicing law has had an opportunity to see John work. He had a rare ability to be tenacious and gracious at the same time. He was supremely witty and always fascinating. He will be missed.

Godspeed, my friend. John was a great attorney, a kind man, a scholar, and one of the most interesting people I have ever known.
