John Lopez, 84, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on October 20, 1941, in Redrock, Texas to Natividad Lopez and Maria Aguirre Lopez, John graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in San Antonio, attended St. Philip's College, and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He retired from HEB Grocery Co. and USAA.
He lived life marked by kindness, hard work, and unwavering commitment to his wife, family and to those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Carmen Lopez; children, Lisa Lopez Peña (Ralph), Luis Lopez (Belinda), and Carlos Lopez (Gina); and sister, Yolanda Lopez Irizarry; grandchildren, Victoria Peña Contrearas, Nicolas Peña, Carlos Javier Lopez Jr., Gabriella Lauren Lopez, Emily C. Lopez, Luis G. Lopez, Abram Lopez, Adrian Lopez.
SERVICES
On Sunday, December 28, 2025 Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. followed by the Rosary at 6:00 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive. On Monday, December 29, 2025 the Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 13715 Riggs Road, Helotes, TX. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
