John Luft Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bacarella Funeral Home, Inc. on Jun. 1, 2023.
John Patrick Luft passed peacefully on May 30, 2023. He was born in Monroe to Ray and Alice Luft. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Leon and Febronie Bulcke and Carl and Mildred Luft. He is survived by his sister, Ann Luft, and her partner Don Vickery.
He loved music, dancing, nature, texture, especially wood. He loved Star Wars, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse and Snoopy. He was fondly known as "the energizer bunny" by Aunt Mari and his cousins because of all the challenges he overcame. His determination and unique sense of humor will also be remembered by his housemates and caregivers at Lewis Home. They became his extended family the past 10 years.
With the loving care he received at Lewis Home and from his Promedica Hospice team he maintained his sense of gratitude and a big smile to the end. A small private memorial will be held. If you knew John, please remember him with stories shared, laughter and smiles. Face challenges as opportunities. Live each day with a heart full of gratitude.
You may consider memorials to Lewis Home at Mastrofrancesco AFC or Promedica Hospice.

Annie, this Jeff Henry Oakley and Maryellen´s grandson. Sorry to read of your loss I think of your parents and John from time to time. Usually when I take the short cut across 7th street. Just talked of your dad on mothers dad as me and my wife stopped at a restaurant down in Ohio that me and your dad ate breakfast at after taking Maryellen to the airport one Sunday.
