Dear Donna, JoAnn, Gayle, Ken, and Karl. So many wonderful memories of times spent with the Lyles family! One of them is singing in the Raymond Chorus with Mr. Lyles (and JoAnn!) many years ago where I first sang "No Man is an Island". How I wish I could be there on Saturday to sing it with you in memory of him. Know that I'll be there in spirit and will be thinking of and praying for you all. Much love, Kathy Donahue

Your dad was a gifted writer. I enjoyed reading his essays and my sister, Ellen, and I read them to our mom while she was in the nursing home. We all loved them!
On a different , I am glad I knew him from Raymond Chorus. I always enjoyed his friendly personality and corny jokes! A great guy. I am so sorry for your loss.

Jack Lyles sang a solo at my husband's funeral in October 2011 in St. John's United Methodist Church in Fort Mill, SC. The song was, "It Is Well With My Soul." I think of Jack every time I hear that song, and I remember how well he sang it. I had been friends with his wife, Eleanor "Ellie" before she passed away. I'm sorry for your loss.
