John N. Machen

Machen, Jr., John N. of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the age of 81.
He is survived by, his beloved wife of 57 years, Betty (nee Stoeber) Machen, his son, Vincent (Melissa (nee Sauer)) Machen, two granddaughters, Sophie Machen, and Chloe Machen, his sister, Margaret McKinney, and other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents: John and Pauline (nee Tipton) Machen. His cherished dogs, Sugar, Ginger, Pumpkin, Giggles and Cinnamon,
John served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He served his family as a truck driver for UPS. John was a good friend. He was known as Mr. Fix It and a skilled TV repairman. John and Betty built their home away from home 48 years ago in the Linn Creek Cove of Lake of the Ozarks where they enjoyed time at the lake with family and friends. John will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dogwood Animal Shelter, 1075 Runabout Drive, Osage Beach, MO 65065.
Services will be private.
The Family invites you to join a Celebration of Life for John that will include music, food, and sharing of favorite stories on Sunday, March 19, 2023, from 1-5 pm at The Hearth Room at The Hawkins House, 1155 South Rock Hill Road, Webster Groves, MO 63119. Open House – All family and friends are welcome.
