John Michael Maki, 73 years old of
Antioch, IL passed away in his home on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. He was born December 18, 1949 to the late Eino and Lucille (Vickers) Maki in Chicago, IL. John moved to Antioch in 1988 and was the proud owner of J. Maki Construction Company and Maki & Associates since 1982. In addition, he was a founding member of the Geneva National Golf Course in Lake Geneva, WI. Above all things, John was passionate about his family, friends, his work, and golf.
Survivors include, his wife, Kathleen Maki; two children, John Jr. of Richmond, IL and Janelle (Timothy Lehn) Maki of Richmond, IL; step-daughter, Elesha (Matthew Werhane) Ellwanger of Woodstock, IL; two grandchildren, TJ and Jeffrey Lehn; and sister-in-law, Gloria Maki and her children, Lisa (Steve) Wright, Robert (Mandy) and Tommy Maki. Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Maki.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00PM until 7:00PM Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St.
