John Edward Marlowe Gardner, 67, of Lubbock passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025. He was born in Bakersfield, California on October 9, 1957, to Marvin and Jane (Hamson) Gardner. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved listening to music, watching movies, and reading books. He also had a passion for stargazing through his telescope at night. John Edward married Kathy Wendeborn on November 27, 1993, in Sweetwater, Texas and together they started a new chapter in their lives.
Those left to cherish his loving memories are his wife, Kathy Gardner; children, Nichole Gardner, Chris Wisely, Jordan Gardner, Robert Wisely, John Wisely, Matt Gardner, Kaylynn Gardner-Powell, Jacob Gardner, and Rebekah Gardner; Siblings, Robert, Jill, Roy, Tom and Susan; and nine grandchildren.
John Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Jane Gardner, and two siblings, Roger and Richard
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at City of Lubbock Cemetery.
