John was born October 4, 1960, in Alpena to Marie K. (Baker) and John R. Marzean. He graduated from Alpena High School in 1978 and had worked at Standard Electric for the past 30 years. John also had a passion for music, signing, and playing guitar in various local bands throughout his adult life.
John is survived by his daughter, Chelsea, (AJ) Kraus, his sisters, Judy Marzean and Jean Zarske, his brother, Thomas (Peggy) Marzean, niece Michelle Marzean, and several other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his long-term partner, Julie Edmonds, kinship children, Amber and Dustin Bee, and his many dear friends and fellow musicians. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and John Marzean, and his nephew, Terry Marzean.
Memorial visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022, from 3pm until the time of the memorial service at 7pm at McWilliams Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Lingaur as celebrant. Memorial donations can be made to the VFW Post 2496 in support of local bands.
