John McAdams Obituary
Dr. John Charles McAdams passed away on Thursday, April 15th, at the age of 75. Born in Kennedy, Alabama, and remaining a proud Southerner at heart, John was a longtime resident of Shorewood, Wisconsin, and professor of political science at Marquette University. John served as an Elder at Northtown Church, where he was a member for 42 years. John was a dedicated and passionate teacher, and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
John is preceded in death by his loving parents, J.C. and Ellen McAdams of Kennedy, Alabama. John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lynda, their three children, Laura Vazquez (Aurelio), Amy Radovich (Peter), and John Michael McAdams (Shalini), five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear sister, Elaine Land Moody (Wayne) and her family, as well as other relatives and friends.
Visitation and funeral service will be held at Northtown Church (7000 N. 107th St., Milwaukee, WI) on Sunday, April 25th. Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 4pm, with a service to follow at 4pm. Details about remote viewing of the service will be forthcoming. The family asks that in lieu of flowers to consider a contribution to Care Net Pregnancy Center of Milwaukee.

John had courage and insight few others do, especially today, yet was always warm and welcoming. A rare combination. A rare man. He will be missed. I pray for the repose of his soul and the consolation of the McAdams family.

I was a student of John's in the early 1980's. His Poli Sci course was my favorite course at Marquette even though I majored in business. I just learned of his death as I have a relative who passed away and also at Krause. I was very supportive and proud of John's challenge to the university and win at the Wisconsin State Supreme Court. The family should know he was an inspiration to his students and to principled people everywhere as he taught and then fought for constitutional principle espoused in the Federalist Papers. I am deeply sorry for the demise of John He was a well loved and respected member of Society. His love of God was evident through out his life. I am sorry not to be able to enjoy his earthly company, but look forward to someday in heaven.
