John Joseph McKernan

I'll never forget taking Prof. McKernan's Shakespeare class in the summer. It was something I had been dreading, but he had a way of making it a fun and exciting memory. Excellent professor with a golden personality

My condolences on John's passing. He was a wonderful man, poet, teacher, editor. A true inspiration to all who knew him.

John was a superb poet, a gentleman, and a scholar. It is a privilege to have known him and to remember the fin example he set for poets throughout West Virginia, as well as the nation.

So fond of John, even after they sent Catherine home with a kitten! Blessings upon the family

He was a great writer and a real friend even in hard times.

John was a wonderful teacher and mentor to me. His influence on writers through his teaching and guidance as one of the leaders of The Guyandotte Poets was immeasurable. His voice will be missed. All love and sympathy to Llewellen and family.
