John McMasters

John E. McMasters, age 65, of Callahan, Florida, passed away on December 14, 2025. Born in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, he was the son of John E. McMasters Sr. and Martha Recupero.

John grew up in a large and close-knit family. He is survived by his siblings Victoria Lynne, Mary Anne, and Beverly, and was preceded in death by his parents & siblings Sunny and Linda. His family roots shaped the loyalty, strength, and compassion he carried throughout his life.

A proud United States Army Veteran, John served honorably as a Fire Control Mechanic, dedicating his early years to protecting his country. After his military service, he built an impressive career spanning more than three decades in electrical, electronic, and control systems. Over 20 of those years were spent in leadership roles with Target, Ulta, and Tapestry, where he was known for his expertise, steady guidance, and commitment to mentoring others.

John's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carmen Reyes McMasters, and his daughter, Michelle McMasters, who was the light of his life. He was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, each of whom he cherished deeply and held a special place in his heart.

Outside of work, John embraced life with enthusiasm and passion. He loved motorcycling, fishing, guns, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, and traveling with his wife, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

John will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to mentoring and nurturing others, his strong moral code rooted in God, family, and country, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met. He was deeply loved by his community, and his influence will continue to live on in the many lives he touched. He will truly be missed.

A Mass Service for John will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church with Father Dung Bui officiating. Interment will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. where military honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Nassau Funeral Home.
