John McMorris

Funeral services for John McMorris, 50, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe. Rev. David Mixon will officiate. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe. A visitation for family and friends will be held at 12:30 PM until the time of service.

John was born on September 25, 1975 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and passed away on January 15, 2026 in Jackson, Louisiana. He worked for Highway Graphics and was an avid outdoorsman, finding his greatest joy in hunting and fishing. John was preceded in death by his father, John Bourgeois; grandparents, Bonnie Lee McGehee and Walter Eugene McMorris; and great-grandparents, Howell and Ethel Mae McGehee.

John is survived by his mother, Barbara McMorris; wife of 20 years, Deann McMorris; children, Amber Self and husband Traver, and Penny McMurray; eight grandchildren, Levi Burgess and wife Brianna, Katie Self, Cameron Coston, Josiah Self, Lil John Self, Londyn Coston, Malachi Self and Leo Coburn; three great-grandchildren; along with other cherished family and friends.

Honoring John as pallbearers are Beryl Richardson, Charles Brownlee, Jay Brakefield, Mark Mckeen, Henry Graddick and Terry Gates.
