McVey, John R., 88, McVeytown, passed away July 27, 2023. Born January 11, 1935, Wayne Twp, son of the late J. Earl and Lorma (Vaughan) McVey. Preceded in death by his wife Shirley E. (Rutherford) McVey. Survived by his children, Pamela McVey Kennedy, husband Tim of Saylorsburg; Robert E. McVey wife, Donna of McVeytown; Gregory N. McVey of Carlisle; Tammy McVey Jones, husband Ron of McVeytown; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Dolores Mickey and niece, Barbara O’Mark. John is also survived by a grandson whom he helped raise, Seth McVey. John retired from Mann Edge Tools of Lewistown, PA. as a machinist. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received on Friday August 4, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 5, 2023, 10 a.m. at the funeral home, Bill Benson officiant. Interment will take place in Newton Hamilton Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
