To Ken and Edith and family of John Merrill: my deepest sympathy on your loss and I pray God greatly strengthens and comforts you all at this time. I know you all did a lot for John and cared for him very well.

I knew John as he taught for the tax-aide program. He did have such a welcoming smile. You could see this was a kind person with whom you felt safe not being perfect or knowing the right answer always. Though, of course, he himself clearly knew what he was teaching. My condolences to his family.
