John A. Meskill, age 80, of Holbrook, NY, passed away on May 29, 2024. He was born in Yardville, NJ, on January 31, 1944. He passed after a short battle with brain cancer.
John was a loving father and husband. Dedicated and structured, yet fun to be around and a generous person. He served 38 years in the Army and Army National Guard as a helicopter pilot and aviation commanding officer, with the highest rank of Colonel. John lived on Long Island, Albany, Mechanicville, and finally back to Long Island.
John is survived by his wife, Diane; daughter Janene and son-in-law Paul Boyd; and sister, Patricia Miller. Also son Jeff and his wife Nicole. Loving grandchildren, Delancey and Braden. Stepson, Jim Frank, wife Jeanne, grandsons Jack and Luke. Stepdaughter Jennifer Pirraglia, granddaughter Julia, and grandson, Dominick.
A graduate of McKendree College, Illinois, John also had a successful career as an engineer at the New York State Dormitory Authority.
