81, longtime resident of Chicago's Southside, Garfield Ridge neighborhood, passed away August 29, 2024. Beloved husband to the late Monica Lucy Michalowski (Slazyk); loving father of JJ Michalowski (fiancé Ann Baker); cherished brother of Sandy (Clyde) Bobnock, Christine (Tony) Clementi, and the late Michael "Mickey" Michalowski; adored uncle of Crystal and Anthony Clementi; devoted great uncle of Phillip, Joseph, Chelsey, Ronny, Jennifer, and Anthony, and dear Godfather of Dominick Felella.
John was preceded in death by his mother Charlotte Perdo, and Father John F. Michalowski.
John served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was described by his family as a true "protector". He enjoyed time spent hunting, attending car shows, and a "chance of luck, taste of spirits, and the Right to Bear Arms!" He was known for being a social butterfly, making friends everywhere he went. John was a dedicated hard worker. He was a member of Local 710, and in his later years a Chicago School Bus Driver, that parents, students, and teachers loved. He also cherished time spent with his family. Known for his outgoing and social personality, John will be deeply missed, and never forgotten.
