John Robert "Jack" Miller, of Green Tree, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024 at age 76. Born on October 7, 1947 he attended Banksville Primary School and Keystone Oaks High School before furthering his education at the Robert Morris School of Business. He became a respected figure in the electronics manufacturing industry, serving as the Vice President of JKMiller Co., Inc., where he contributed significantly to the advancement of quartz crystal blanks and pursued his passion for professional formula auto racing.
Beyond his professional achievements, Jack was a passionate classic automobile collector, an active member of several car clubs, and a devoted nature and animal lover. His love for the Pittsburgh Steelers, live music, and motorcycles also painted a picture of a man with diverse interests and a zest for life. He is survived by his three sisters, Susan Gaze (Jim), Nancy Burross (Jerry), and Janet Miller. Jack also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his cherished cats, Velvet and Benji. He was preceded in death by his parents, John K. Miller and Betty F. Miller.
Visitation will be held at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., 15220 (412-563-2800), on Friday, July 26th from 4-8pm. A private interment will follow on Saturday, July 27th. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Jack's remarkable life and to share memories of a man who touched many hearts with his generosity and spirit.
