John Eugene Miller was born on October 30, 1954 in Des Moines, IA to Carol and Darlene Miller. John passed away from cancer, December 23, 2025.

John was incredibly proud of his four sons, Matthew and wife Sarah of Clive, IA, sons, Liam and Jack. Dustin of Des Moines, IA, sons, Cameron and Phoenix, and daughter, Zudi. Joshua and wife Lauren of Clive, IA, son, Emmerich and daughter, Ellaria. Sean of West Des Moines, IA, son, Solomon and daughter, Amra. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, granddaughter, Samara Miller, and beloved sister, Linda Lemon.

John moved to the Fremont-Mills school district, Tabor, IA in 1970. Sophomore year of high school he met Teresa. They dated for a time, graduated in 1973. 35 years later, in 2008, they connected again. John and Teresa were married in 2012 in Des Moines, IA. Together they took John's passion for vintage vehicles and created JTVairs. Dubbed "the Corvair Rescue Team" they began a mission of educating, encouraging and rescuing Chevrolet's air cooled, rear engine 1960's vehicles. Through that, they built a network of friends that spanned the globe, with close friends in The Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, and Germany as well as across America. John developed a real talent for restoration with a team of skilled partners who became family. Even as his health declined, he was mentoring and gave of his talent and knowledge generously.

John and Teresa moved to Paris Springs Jct, MO, an unincorporated village on Route 66 in 2015. John was a member of the Sac River Cowboy Church.

A memorial has been established at the Corvair Museum of America in Hastings, NE www.corvairmuseum.org
