John Miller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bateman-Allen Funeral Home - Brookhaven on Mar. 20, 2026.
John E. Miller, also known as Dewey, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026. He was 63 years old. Born in Darby, raised in East Lansdowne and most recently lived in Brookhaven, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Lansdowne Aldan High School, class of 1980. He was a chef for 35 years at multiple establishments: Bennigans, Rolling Green, and Waverly Heights, just to name a few.

John was a devoted practicing Catholic his entire life; he never wavered in his faith. He grew up a Boy Scout and shared it with his son. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, boating and camping. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed watching MeTV. He was an incredible artist and loved to write poems for his wife.

Dewey loved all holidays and hosting parties; it made him so happy to be surrounded by his family and friends. He was always an animal lover and adored his pets Nathan, Allie, and Mo.

His wife and son gave him purpose; he loved them unconditionally and with all that he had.

John was known as a dependable man with a heart of solid gold and to say he will be missed is a major understatement.

He was predeceased by his parents Eugene and Patricia Miller and his mother-in-law Patricia Lewis.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Kimberly Miller; his son, Lewis Miller; his siblings Michael Miller (Angela), Donna Baldino (John), David Miller, Jessica Miller, Diane Giardinelli (James), JoAnn Miller, and Matthew Miller (Hope); his father-in-law, Charles Larry Lewis (Nancy); multiple nieces and nephews and many great friends who were family.

Funeral mass Tuesday (March 24, 2026) 10:30am at St. Josephs Church, 3255 Concord Rd., Aston, Pa, 19014 with a viewing beginning at 9:00am. Burial SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
