John Warren Mixon Jr. 77, of 159 Brookside Drive Elberton, husband of Frances Joan Sassi Mixon died Wednesday June 30, 2010. Born in Augusta, GA he was a member and former deacon of the Elberton First Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Georgia Tech with a degree in Civil Engineering, and retired after 30 years from Southeastern Power Administration. Survivors include his wife of the home Frances Sassi Mixon, daughter and son-in-law Pamela and John Dixon of Birmingham, AL, son and daughter-in-law Thomas "Tommy" and Diana Mixon of Royston, GA and grandchildren Christopher and Jennifer Dixon. Graveside services will be held Friday July 2, at 3PM at Elmhurst Cemetery with Rev. Michael Woods and Dr. Bill Mounts officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM Friday just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home. The family has requested please in lieu of flowers to make memorials in his honor to the Elberton First Presbyterian Church 154 South McIntosh St. Elberton, GA 30635. Berry Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mr. John Warren Mixon Jr.
