We all saw Wes through a different lens. Some as a friend, some as a parent, a grandparent, an uncle, etc. I was so very fortunate to have Wes come into my "field of view" almost 30 years ago. We worked together for a fairly short period of time, but our friendship lasted.
Wes was a fantastic story teller, a real gift. He knew how to read people, and he knew how to get along with people and relate to them. He was funny, he was witty, he was principled, and he was caring.
He left this world a better place for those around him. He taught me a few business lessons, a few life lessons, and lots of good times, laughter, and fun. In all the years I knew him, we were so caught up in the present, that we never took a picture together to look back at. But, I can see him very clearly in my mind, and hear his voice so clearly. I guess when someone makes that big of an impact, you don't need to rely on pictures.
I will miss him for now, but look forward to seeing him again one day. I'm sure he'll have a heck of a garden train up there, and lots of detail to show me.
